Houston, we have a new regular series.
TVLine has exclusively learned that Edi Gathegi (The Blacklist, House) has joined the upcoming third season of For All Mankind as Dev Ayesa, a charismatic visionary who aims for the stars.
The actor fills a void left by former cast members Sarah Jones (Tracy) and Michael Dorman (Gordo), both of whom made their final appearances in the season 2 finale of the acclaimed Apple TV + drama.
As announced in the dying moments of Season 2, the new season will move to 1994 and revolve around the first human to walk on Mars.
Gathegi – who recently starred in USA Network’s single crime drama Briarpatch – joins a full-time ensemble that includes series regulars Joel Kinnaman, Shantel VanSanten, Jodi Balfour, Sonya Walger, Krys Marshall, Cynthy Wu, Casey W. Johnson, Coral Peña and Wrenn Schmidt.
“One of the unique things about the show is that it’s a generational show,” executive producer Ronald D. Moore recently told TVLine. “He spans the decades. So people come and go. Some people will die, some people will get out of history, the youngest will grow up.
