Shane Richie hints Alfie Moon could return to EastEnders

Shane Richie has hinted that his EastEnders character Alfie Moon may return to Walford soon.

Shane has played Alfie on and off since 2002, and his character was last seen in 2019.

But now he’s hinted that his character may be making a comeback soon.

The actor appeared on Lorraine today (Thursday, May 27) to talk about Everybody’s Talking About Jamie, who has just returned to the West End.

During the show, Lorraine asked where Alfie was now and if he would return. Shane responded by saying, “Alfie is still I think I’m talking to Jessie [Wallace] all the time, oddly enough, I see her this week.

“Alfie is still on the run in Spain and runs a bar somewhere on the Costa Del Sol.

“And I think he still owes Phil money. And I know Kat and Phil Mitchell are ugly right now.

“They’re getting together, so who knows? There might be a chance Alfie will come and ruin this little party… but you haven’t heard from me.

What has Shane Richie been up to since leaving EastEnders?

In 2019, Alfie fled because he owed Phil money. Meanwhile, in real life, Shane was a presenter on Caravanning with Shane Richie in 2019.

He also played Hugo Battersby / Loco Chanelle on West End Everybody’s Talking About Jamie.

Shane appeared on I’m A Celebrity in 2020 (ITV)

In December 2020, he participated in series 20 of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

The series took place in Wales instead of Australia due to the coronavirus pandemic.
