Who was Al Capone and will he appear in Peaky Blinders season 6?
Sometimes known by the nickname Scarface, Al Capone was a notorious gangster and Mafia boss who ran the Chicago Mafia in the 1920s and 1930s.
Born in New York in 1899, he quickly rose through the ranks until he moved to Chicago.
There he became involved in smuggling during the Prohibition Years, when alcohol was banned by the US government.

Capone has often donated to charities and cared for the Italian immigrant community, and has often been dubbed the “Robin Hood of modern times”.
However, this flamboyant and unstable character was ruthless.
It has been alleged that he was behind the famous Valentine’s Day massacre, where he ordered the elimination of his rivals.
He died at the age of 48 in 1947 from syphilis.

Will Al Capone appear in Peaky Blinders?
Believe it or not, Capone has appeared in Peaky Blinders before.
In series four, the gangster – who became an ally of the Brummie gang – was heard over the phone.
He made a deal with the Shelbys to get rid of Capone’s rival Luca Changretta and provide him with alcohol.
After Arthur Shelby takes down Luca, Capone and the Peakies are now best friends.
With Michael and his wife Gina potentially traveling to the United States in series six, there’s a good chance Capone will appear in person.
He was at the height of his powers in the 1930s as the ban was unleashed, and that would fit into the Peakies timeline.

Stephen Graham will he play Capone in Peaky Blinders season 6?
Since Time star Stephen confirmed his appearance on the show, speculation has been rife that he will play Capone.
However, the first photos reveal Stephen, 47, dressed in regular civilian clothes.
It’s a world away from the sleek, tailored and booted look that Capone preferred.
Sadly, creator Steven Knight silenced the rumors when he appeared on a fan podcast at the end of Series Five.
He said, “Not Al Capone – I didn’t want to go west,” he said.
“Because it’s a minefield once you get into the Chicago gangsters.” I am referring to him the last series, but I didn’t want to go into that.

Has Stephen ever played Al Capone?
Coincidentally, Stephen once played Al Capone in a hit TV series.
In 2011, he played a young Capone in the American series Boardwalk Empire, produced and sometimes directed by the great Martin Scorsese.
He told The Guardian of the role: “It’s a dream come true to be on this big set, to be directed by Martin Scorsese again.

“It is certainly far from taking the bus with my mother to go to the Everyman Theater in Liverpool.
“A friend said to me, ‘You should congratulate yourself, that’s what you always wanted.’ But you can’t think like that for too long or your head goes up in your butt and you turn into a nutcase.
